Independent journalism rooted in Ottawa since 2019

Mymspgoat was founded by Marc-Andre Tremblay with a straightforward conviction: the public deserves reporting that answers to no one but the facts. Since opening our doors in 2019, we have built a small, focused team that produces investigative journalism, long-form writing, documentary films, and strategic media consulting for clients across Canada and abroad.

Our work is guided by editorial independence, public interest, rigorous sourcing, and a commitment to bilingual service in both English and French. Every story we pursue begins with the same question: does this matter to the people who will read it, watch it, or hear it?

Our newsroom

We operate from an 85-square-metre office in downtown Ottawa, just steps from Parliament Hill. The space includes a 12-square-metre dedicated edit suite for post-production work and an acoustically treated recording area used for podcast episodes, audio interviews, and voiceover sessions. When a story takes us into the field, we deploy a portable kit equipped with broadcast-grade audio recorders and 4K video cameras, ensuring broadcast-quality results whether we are in a boardroom or on location in a remote community.

Our proximity to federal institutions, embassies, and national media outlets gives us direct access to the people and records that shape Canadian public policy. Being headquartered on Elgin Street, a five-minute walk from Parliament Station on the O-Train Line 1, keeps us connected to the city and to the stories unfolding around it.

The team

Marc-Andre Tremblay

Founder, Journalist, and Director

Marc-Andre brings more than fifteen years of experience in Canadian media. Before founding Mymspgoat, he worked as a reporter and producer for regional and national outlets covering politics, public accountability, and social affairs. He leads investigations, oversees editorial direction, and ensures that every piece of content meets the standards the newsroom was built on. As the company director, he also manages client relationships and long-term strategy.

Sarah Mitchell

Managing Editor

Sarah is a native English speaker with deep experience in editorial management. She oversees the writing and editing pipeline, maintains consistency across all publications, and works closely with freelance contributors. Her background in copy editing and fact-checking makes her the last line of defence before any piece goes to publication.

David Lavoie

Documentary Videographer

David handles all video production, from pre-production planning and on-location shoots to editing and final delivery. He specializes in documentary storytelling and short-form journalism for digital platforms. His work has been screened at regional film festivals and broadcast on Canadian television.

Priya Sharma

Media Consultant

Priya advises organizations, nonprofits, and public-sector clients on media strategy, crisis communication, and public relations. She brings a journalist's perspective to communications work, helping clients tell their stories clearly and credibly. Her consulting engagements often complement the newsroom's editorial projects, giving clients a complete picture of how their message reaches the public.

What we believe

Editorial independence is not a slogan here; it is a working principle. We accept no advertising revenue that could compromise our reporting. We do not publish sponsored content under the guise of journalism. When a client hires us for a project, the terms are transparent, and the editorial standards remain the same as if we were publishing under our own masthead.

We believe in building long-term trust with our audience and our clients. That means delivering honest work, meeting deadlines, and being available when questions arise. It also means saying no when a project does not align with our values or when we lack the expertise to do it justice.
